Today, we were mostly just frustrated and confused with this whole project. Writing this right now, I don't even want to think about it. While we were joking, we came up with two analogies.
"It's like we are in a maze and she gives us a map and it's blank."
"It's like I am a pig in a forest and I am trying to find my way home."
"Fortunately, pigs have a good sense of smell. They also smell very good so have fun running away from the wolfies."
While going to the teacher, I had asked her if you can get rid of part of the letter. She just stopped walking, froze a little and then gave me this look as if it were obvious enough and as if I were a complete dolt.
So, yeah - my self confidence is at it's GREATEST peak right now
Hello Nicholas - i am so glad to have you in this class. As I stated very early in the class this is an experiential calls and I will not give you the answers. Instead of posting your complaint on the web so that it is public - which personally I think opens the dialog. Firstly I would suggest yo come and see me. Did you talk to anyone whether they had cut up the letters for the project? Also I have over 30 students talking with me so I try and be as fair as I can with each one. Some demand more attention than others so it does eat up all my time.

I understand all of this, but of what you did tell us it was not clear enough for me to work through.
ReplyDeleteThe people that were working with me clearly didn't know what to do either so that wasn't much help.
When I came to you, you gave me this 'look' and it really didn't make me feel very enthusiastic in asking you any further questions.
If I am really asking such an 'obvious' question like you shown me through your facial expression that day then that shows that I am so lost that I need to clarify EVERYTHING.
Alas though, I am putting my best efforts into this.
I will take whatever I can from this class, learn from it, and move on.
I will consider coming back to you on our next project.
It does ease me a little hearing this as an 'experiment' though.
I am just hoping that this little experiment will not rest heavily on my grades.
